4. How do I get a student visa to enter the United States?

Contact the U.S. embassy in your country for a visa interview and take all required documents with you. Because of limited time, you should prepare to answer questions with short and to the point answers.  Be prepared to go to the interview alone. During the interview, never state that you intend to work in the United States and state that you intend to return to your home country after completing your studies. If your student visa is denied, ask the officer the reasons you were denied and for a list of documents that could overcome the refusal. Otherwise, you must convince the consular officer that you have sufficient funds available to support yourself during the time you stay in the United States.
